Win Death Note 2 Movie Tickets!
Viz Pictures is giving away 10 tickets for Death Note 2 at MikomiCon which opens in theaters next month. We will have these as prizes to give away at MikomiCon 2008 in various events. Death Note 2: The Last Name opens in the USU Theater Saturday Sept. 20th, and a limited run in US Theaters October 15th & 16th. Tickets go on sale this Friday (Sept 5th, 2008). Just announced New Guest of Honor!
Ms. Erika Weinstein the voice actress from such popular anime as Kamichu!, Daphne in the Brilliant Blue, Haibane Renmei, AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission and Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit currently airing on Adult Swim. She has also lent her voice to several hit video games such as Tales of Legendia, Soul Calibur III and IV as well as Square Enix's soon-to-be-released RPG, The Last Remnant. Some people have emailed me in a panic because they forgot to register before last night because of the holiday. For all those people who missed the deadline, we have extended the pre-reg date and the pre-reg price for one more week only. After Sunday the 7th our registration prices are going to go to at the door rates.

The MikomiCon 2008 Schedule will be posted this Monday, Sept 1st, Labor Day. It is not only to represent the result of our labor, but also the deadline that was set by our program guide publishers;) Any changes made to the schedule will be posted online, at registration, and next to the Live Programming doorways.

Our 3rd year; Welcome to MikomiCon 2008. Thank you all for making 2007 awesome For our first bit of news, last seen in 2006 karaoke is back! Introduced in 2007 our watermelon tag-team eating contest will be back along with a variety eating contest. Finally to "round out" the first of our news we are thrilled to announce that SUMO wrestling is thundering in for 2008! We have more exciting news for you coming down the internet tube with updates here and our forums as it happens. Meanwhile there are a couple great ways you can help us this year. We are accepting panel & workshop applications for our live programming, you can go to our Live Programming section for more information.
If you just have a great idea, you can also post it to our forums. Also each year we are strapped for workers so if you have time and passion sign up to be a volunteer at MikomiCon 2008, so head on over to our community section to sign up. We'll see you in line at AX2008 where we'll be handing out gifts and bandannas.

Welcome to MikomiCon 2008! We are entering our third year of MikomiCon and we plan on making it even better than before! Hope the new website is to everyone's liking! I'm still working out some kinks here and there.
I have updated our band performances as well as our DJs for the nightly dances! Still working on getting the registration up so get ready for that!
